Genetic Counselor

Immediate openings in our main facility in the city of Orange for genetic counselors at the growing Genetics Center in southern California. Join a team of genetic counselors led by two well-respected medical geneticists. Counselors are involved in:

  • Comprehensive Prenatal Diagnosis Center (PDC) services
  • Pediatric genetics, including subspecialty clinics
  • Cancer genetics
  • Molecular Genetics and Cytogenetics Laboratories onsite

Genetics Center has onsite CAP-accredited and CLIA-certified cytogenetic and molecular genetic laboratories, with State-approved training programs for cytogenetic and molecular genetic licensed laboratory scientists. We perform array CGH, sequencing including NGS, comprehensive molecular tests, FISH, and cytogenetic tests in our laboratories. Genetics Center is also approved by the Children’s Oncology Group (COG), which attests to the strength of our cancer genetics program.
Education is an important part of Genetics Center, and our genetic counselors significantly contribute to those efforts. Positions have competitive salary and comprehensive benefits. Our center has a pleasant working environment, and service is our primary motivating factor. We are closely affiliated with two major hospitals within walking distance. Genetics Center is a PDC as part of the California Prenatal Screening Program, providing relevant services including First and Second Trimester Screening, prenatal counseling, amniocentesis, and CVS.
Requirements: Board Certified or Board Eligible Genetic Counselor, capable of getting or has a California Genetic Counselor License (full or temporary).
Genetics Center has been an integral part of the medical community for over 27 years, where we provide comprehensive genetics services. New grads are welcome. Spanish language skills are beneficial.
